Flash Ohio (1984/2018)

During his stay in Columbus, Ohio in 1983-84 Brohm also photographed his social environment, in addition to his urban surroundings: an academic milieu of studying and teaching artists, photographers and filmmakers. Situations of everyday life were recorded by him spontaneously and abruptly with the medium format camera and a flash. From his contact as a temporary guest in a new world the photographs were taken with straightforward directness.
